Parking information:

Parking is available on site, however this may fill quickly. Alternative parking can be found at Newton Aycliffe Railway Station, Darlington or Bishop Auckland, where you can then hop on our Heritage Bus Rides to the museum. There is also parking around Newton Aycliffe and on the nearby industrial estate – please park responsibly, respect others, and keep an eye on local restrictions.

Step inside our museum and explore our wonderful archives and collection, browse a fantastic range of stalls, and visit our shop for some very special event-only items.


Grab a bite from our food vendors, soak up the atmosphere, and don’t forget to check out our visiting vehicles and guest buses on display – it’s shaping up to be a truly brilliant day!

💛 Yellow Route – Bishop Auckland Food Festival

A fantastic link between the museum and the bustling food festival!

Departures towards Bishop Auckland:

• Aycliffe Bus Museum – 10 & 40 past each hour

• Heighington Railway Station – 15 & 45

• Shildon (King William IV) – 25 & 55

Return journeys:

• Bishop Auckland (rear of Wetherspoons stop) – 10 & 40


Expect noise, power, and pure nostalgia as our heritage fleet tackles the local roads – a real treat for enthusiasts and families alike!


💙 Blue Route – Darlington Town Centre via Hopetown

Travel in style between the museum, Hopetown and Darlington!

Departures:

• Aycliffe Bus Museum – 00 & 30

• Hopetown (North Road) – 20 & 50

• Darlington Town Centre (Dolphin Centre coach stop) – 00 & 30


Make a full day of it and explore everything along the route while enjoying the charm of classic buses.


💚 Green Route – Aycliffe Town Circular

A relaxed and easy way to explore Newton Aycliffe.

Stops include:

• Aycliffe Bus Museum – 20 & 50

• Aycliffe Town Centre – 30 & on the hour

• Aycliffe Railway Station – 15 & 45


Perfect for hopping on and off throughout the day! All bus rides are free however donations are appreciated.
