Bristol LS6G single decker

This coach was delivered to United Automobile Services on 1st June 1958.
A horizontal six cylinder Gardner diesel is installed amidships under the floor, a layout subsequently copied by many others. The bodywork is integral with the chassis to save weight.
Originally equipped with 34 reclining seats, she was used until 1961 on United's prestigious week long tours to Scotland, Ireland and the West Country.
In 1961 the layout was changed to 39 fixed seats for day trips out of Scarborough and occasional long distance work. After some changes in ownership she was subsequently laid up until 2000 when restoration was begun by the Society.
